What started in 2018 as a small mission to bring original music to the Kapiti Coast has grown into a full-blown hub for live music, comedy, and solo shows that pack a punch.

Who We Are
Marc Hamilton is a musician and comedian with a big love for original talent. In 2020, he started 2020 Entertainment to bring fresh, live music and comedy to the Kapiti Coast—because why should Wellington have all the fun?
Lorraine Hamilton is Marc's wife and a stand up comedian in her own right. She does back end tech and is a geek at heart. She also bribes the comedic talent to come back to Kapiti with home made shortbread.
Eilidh Hamilton is the only pro on the team! She is a qualified Performance Manager and provides front of house tech, lights and sound as well as keen management of our events.
What We Do

– From fresh-faced open mic comics to seasoned pros, we put on unforgettable stand-up shows where comedians actually get paid for their craft.
🎶 Live Music
– Original musicians deserve a stage, an audience, and fair compensation. We make that happen by working with venues to create packed-out, high-energy gigs.
🎙️Open Mics
– A safe, supportive space for emerging artists and performers to build confidence, test new material, and connect with a like-minded community.

What types of events do you run?

I have a venue and would like to bring music and/or comedy events to it. How can you help me?
We are always looking for venues that want to host bands, comedy events, open mics and karaoke nights. If you want to discuss bringing a 2020Entertainment event to your premises then let's chat. Our events are well advertised and well attended. Get in touch if you want to learn how we can help.
Can you work within my budget?
Absolutely! We work closely with clients to create customized event plans that fit within their budget while delivering high-quality results.
What is included in your event planning package?

Do you offer day-of event coordination services only?
Yes, we provide day-of coordination services for clients who have handled the planning but need assistance ensuring everything runs smoothly on the day of the event.
